Going My Way

 In the morning, I remembered that the songs of Chinese Ghost Story2. Whenever listening to these songs, my heart is forced to be filled with pain. I watched this movie in my childhood many times. It is said that this movie is categorized as B grade movie made by Hongkong. I like this movie. I don't always listen to the Chinese songs, but these songs reminds me of ancient authenticity in nostalgic way. I have never been to China, but these songs sends me the essence of how grand the Chinese history is. I think I should cherish our Japanese culture because I am Japanese, but I like the grand comprehending Chinese culture, too. I am in the position of that Japan and China should develop our tie with each other not only in economical way, but also in our culture phase. There is no meaning for us to fight with each other over the sovereignty of Taiwan. Let's have a good relationship with each other by culture.  About 2 years ago, I wrote in this blog that I want to begin to listen to the modern jazz. But, I have not written the blog since then, but I restart to write about modern jazz by reading a Japanese book on it. Today, I read about progressive jazz in that book and started to know band orchestra like Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Claude Thornhill. Woody Herman On the beginning of 1940's, there gets to be some change in big band. It is that the member who constitute the big band turned from white people to black people. In that stream, Woody Herman and Stan Kenton were called as progressive jazz. Woody Herman had played Blues, but became to be "modern" after joining the new pianist. The famous songs of their first period is " Apple Honey", "Caldonia", "Bejou" etc.                                                                 ...
